KEEP CLAPPING STORIES

Blog
What will it take?
The NHS is on its knees. We hear it a lot now.
Ambulance drivers are striking. Nurses on the picket line.
Patients lying on the floor in accident and emergency for hours, scared and in pain.
Doctors loosing hair, loosing sleep, loosing hope desperately trying to keep up with it all.
We clapped all through 2020 and 2021, but claps don't fund health care.
My father died in 2022, it was his time. But before he died he suffered indignities that nobody in the health care system would have wanted when they first decided to dedicate their lives to care.
What will it take for the powers that be to change things? To invest in a care system that cares.
Maybe if we shout together, bring our stories together to show the weight of the suffering that years of neglect have produced. . . maybe we can bring change.
Lessons don't seem to be learned when stories are told in isolation. Let's come together, let's keep clapping, and let's show each other and the politicians that compassion and care what we need for a brighter future.
